Prisma colour have recently invested in a state-of-the-art colour spectrophotometer that incorporates the ability to specifically match and predict colours from a set of colour co-ordinates, as well as predicting colour formulations from the normal measuring of a coloured sample.
This helps if a customer needs a specific RAL or Pantone number matching as these can be matched against a stored set of values for each colour, enabling a faster response to new enquiries sometimes only in the time it takes to pull a formulation from the database.
It also has the ability to predict batch corrections which means more efficient colour matching and smoother production.
When colourants are entered into the new database the facility to choose the most cost effective option can be taken into account as well as specific requirements such as light fastness, weather fastness and heat stability that were not available in earlier models of spectrophotometers.
